Lancashire County Cricket Club are intending to win the hearts of Indian lovers as they look to build on a record-breaking financial year despite the impending effect of the coronavirus pandemic.

The club also announced a turnover of 34.0 million lbs and a net gain of 5.0 million pounds -- both fresh highs for the organization. However, without a cricket to be played July at the first, Lancashire, like other counties, may expect a financial hit in the effect of the virus.

"Certainly, these are tough times as the club navigates its way through the current Covid-19 pandemic, but these results at least aid relief that fiscal burden," CEO Daniel Gidney told Reuters.

"We have a big expansion plan for India," explained Gidney, who noted the achievement of the India v Pakistan World Cup match at the place last summer.

"We wish to make Lancashire Cricket the 2nd favorite team for all Indian lovers. It's about raising our profile in India and obviously broadcast is a means to do this and we want to start Lancashire TV and get as many Lancashire cricket articles because we could broadcast in the sub-continent. That's very much part of our expansion plan," he explained.

Signing Indian gamers is an obvious path to popularity and even though the IPL Twenty20 league has restricted Indian players from playing T20 competitions overseas, players can play in first-class cricket in England.

Lancashire held a coaching trip in Mumbai in February through which Gidney met with Indian company executives Together with former India and Lancashire player Farokh Engineer.

"To start with it is about encouraging people to travel more to see India play in England, touch wood India are enjoying Emirates Old Trafford in both 2021 and 2022. That is a platform. The passion for the sport in India is enormous and unrivaled."
