The decision to secure the border came after Ghaziabad witnessed a surge of 10 fresh instances of coronavirus in the previous 24 hours. The district administration issued an order saying,"In Ghaziabad district, there's an increase in the amount of coronavirus instances in the last few days. A large chunk of these cases are linked to people who travel between Delhi and Ghaziabad.

The district administration has also issued a clarification on who'll need e-passes to cross the boundary. Heavy vehicles or trucks carrying goods, vehicles involved with banking support and essential services and medications will be allowed passage without questioning. The order stated that individuals employed in essential services, like doctors, paramedical staff, police, media personnel and bank employees, will be permitted to go and won't require moves. Their identity cards will be sufficient.

However, people working together with the central and Delhi government offices, would be required to generate temporary moves. "Lots of third and fourth class government officials live in Ghaziabad who operates in Delhi. A government guideline says its offices are functioning in a 33 percent advantage. All such government employees who constitute that 33 percent can find a travel pass issued to them which can be on a daily basis or weekly basis," the order said.

The arrangement also requested the government workers to enter Delhi until 9 am and return to Ghaziabad after 6 pm.

The order also said that in the event of emergency residents prepared to acquire e-passes might need to apply.
