630 flights were cancelled In India on 26 may 2020 The very first day of the resumption of national commercial flights from the nation had its fare share of challenges, resulting in chaos at virtually all significant airports since almost 630 flights had been cancelled because of countries' constraints and airline operational difficulties. The confusion has been further compounded by an assortment of quarantine protocols by country authorities, leaving several flyers large and dry.
The authorities had on May 21 declared the resumption of flights from May 25 after a gap of almost two weeks in the aftermath of this Covid-induced nationally lockdown.
Officials in Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, said the cancellations were largely due to several nations, such as West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, refusing to permit flight operations and because of some operational problems such as low load factor faced by airline operators.
Even the Mumbai airport, the nation's second busiest airport following Delhi, was designed to originally handle 175 flights every day. It frees them to 50 yesterday, and now farther afield 20 flights.
Andhra Pradesh didn't let flight operations now; it will start services from elsewhere West Bengal will restart them from May 28. Both countries have two airports each.

The airline, however, maintained it couldn't disclose cancellations till two hours prior to the flight departure. However, with the new SOPs dictating that passengers must arrive at least 2 hours prior to their flight, this implies many turned up in the airport just to learn there would not be a flight.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri hailed the resumption of aviation by means of a live picture of air traffic from the heavens. "Indians soar from the heavens !
